The glorious spring is here!

Spring Is Here

Now that winter is over we can enjoy the warm weather.. and the mess that was left behind!

“Throw open wide your window, dear; the spring, the glorious spring is here!”

After a long, messy winter and many false starts, spring has finally arrived. Time to throw open the windows and let the sun shine in – illuminating those dusty corners and cobwebs that may have escaped your attention over the long winter months!

Spring is the time for fresh starts and new beginnings – and that often starts with our homes. Spring cleaning is a cherished ritual and an important part of honoring and welcoming a new season.  And that often means a deeper clean than our usual routine.

If your furniture and carpet seem to be harboring dirt and odours, steam cleaning may be in order. We carry a number of steam cleaners and steam mops, including the Reliable P7 Handheld Steamer which dissolves and loosens dirt while killing germs and bacteria without the use of harmful chemicals.

For allergy sufferers, spring often means the onset of pollen and other allergens. Cleaning and dusting will help, but often an air purification system is a necessity. The Oreck ProShield Air Cleaner is a reasonably priced system that captures and destroys allergens, bacteria, viruses, molds, fungi and other particles in the air that can trigger allergic reactions.

If you’re laundering those heavy winter duds to pack away in storage til next year, consider Greener Choice Laundry Detergent, an environmentally friendly product that works! With no artificial dyes or fragrances, this detergent is biodegradable, phosphate-free, and is not tested on animals.

To keep your home smelling fresh all season long, the Fresh Wave line of natural deodorizers are made with extracts of lime, pine needles, aniseed, clove and cedarwood are biodegradable and non-toxic. Great for homes with children and pets!

Happy Spring, and happy cleaning, from McHardy Vacuum!
